Been a while since I’ve checked for an update but…
…I didn’t realize it had been that long.
Now that I think of it maybe I should upgrade my 60’s era cell phone! This SII must have been around longer than I thought!
And another thing. Come on Sprint I know you’re pretty slow at pushing updates, but 35 years???
Disable Tire Pressure Monitoring System on 06 Toyota 4runner
Disable Tire Pressure Monitoring System on 06 Toyota 4runner
Bought one these a couple weeks ago, after my Intrepid died. A few days after I bought it the tire warning light started flashing. After double checking the pressure in all the tires (including the spare) I came to the conclusion that one of the sensors was bad. I tried the trick of letting air out of each and pumping them back up. When pressure was released all but the spare caused the light to come on steady, so I assume that is the one with the problem.
Anyhow, after doing a little digging I found that shorting the pink/black tracer and white/black tracer at the TPMS unit kills the light. 5 minutes and a inch and a half of buss wire and it’s all fixed. I’ll just have to keep an eye on the tire pressure myself ( I always have anyhow).
Thanks to http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/108176-write-up-how-disable-bypass-tpms.html for pointing that out. I just used bus wire and ran it down inside the connector for each pin. Can pull it out simply if I ever get around to replacing and reprogramming the spare (don’t hold your breathe!)
