Illinois toll roads rates

I was figuring the toll rates for some customer locations this afternoon.  I got to one location in the Chicago area that should not have incurred any tolls.  The Illinois tollway system didn’t seem to like that very well. https://www.illinoisvirtualtollway.com/?ContentPane=tripcalculator

When I put in the starting & ending points, and hit “Get Route” it routed me to the next exit, turned me around and  rerouted me using toll routes (and added additional miles to boot).

Save the environment, reduce emissions, car pool, blah blah blah.  Just don’t think about shorting them the monies that they extort from the motoring public.

Won’t do that again

My wife told me that we were out of soap for the dishwasher last weekend.  I wasn’t planning on going to the store anytime soon so I just made a mental note.  I went to put something in the dishwasher a while later and noticed it was getting pretty full.  I looked under the sink and found a nearly full bottle of dishsoap.  Soap is soap, as long as the dishes get clean, right?

Umm yeah.  Won’t do that again.

Great Tip to Clear Backlash When Fishing With a Baitcast Reel

If you’ve ever fished with a baitcast reel, you’ve experienced a backlash. I went fishing last night got a doozy.  When I got home I decided to see if someone had a better way to clear these.  I found this video and grabbed my pole to test it out.  Works great!!

Just my Luck

Walked out of work today as a line of showers was going through.  I was parked on the rain side of the line.

Worked on the bike this weekend

I had ordered some parts last week. Didn’t get a chance to install them till yesterday.

The speedometer works now.

The replacement seat overs came out great.  You wouldn’t know they weren’t factory if I didn’t tell you. 

That took all of 10 minutes to fix including the 5 minute beak.

BTW the replacement LCD was perfect, and packaged well to prevent damage during shipping.  Great job +ScreenCountry.com!

P.S. +Cameron Brown, be a little more careful.  Electronics don’t work after you let the smoke out!

Making work for myself

I just ordered replacement seat covers for my bike.  I have an ’86 Honda Shadow.  It’s been around a while, but it’s in good shape for its age.  The drivers seat though is dry rotting and beginning to crack in a couple of places.  These should fix that up.

Also ordered the speedometer gear and retaining washer through a different company (BikeBandit.com).  The speedo hasn’t worked since I traded it for my Burgman with Marshall Bronne. No wonder it was such a low mileage bike!
