PRISM: A reason to rethink cloud based computing
I’ve had reservations about the cloud based computing from the onset. The recent revelation of The NSA’s PRISM program helps confirms those reservations.
I would just as soon create my documents with with a standalone machine, OS, and software. I can then choose to publish what I want on the in the wild, and keep the what I want kept private private.
If this is the way the government actually is harvesting data, there is no security even over a “secure” connection. Any data sent over a network can be read, altered, redirected, and restricted.
I prefer just a little more control than what the cloud can offer.
