Disable Tire Pressure Monitoring System on 06 Toyota 4runner

Disable Tire Pressure Monitoring System on 06 Toyota 4runner

Bought one these a couple weeks ago, after my Intrepid died.  A few days after I bought it the tire warning light started flashing.  After double checking the pressure in all the tires (including the spare) I came to the conclusion that one of the sensors was bad.  I tried the trick of letting air out of each and pumping them back up.  When pressure was released all but the spare caused the light to come on steady, so I assume that is the one with the problem.

Anyhow, after doing a little digging I found that shorting the pink/black tracer and white/black tracer at the TPMS unit kills the light.  5 minutes and a inch and a half of buss wire and it’s all fixed.  I’ll just have to keep an eye on the tire pressure myself ( I always have anyhow).

Thanks to http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/108176-write-up-how-disable-bypass-tpms.html for pointing that out.  I just used bus wire and ran it down inside the connector for each pin.  Can pull it out simply if I ever get around to replacing and reprogramming the spare (don’t hold your breathe!)

When we launched Google+ over three years ago, we had a lot of restrictions on what name you could use on your profile. This helped create a community made up of real people, but it also excluded a number of people who wanted to be part of it without using their real names.

Over the years, as Google+ grew and its community became established, we steadily opened up this policy, from allowing +Page owners to use any name of their choosing to letting YouTube users bring their usernames into Google+. Today, we are taking the last step: there are no more restrictions on what name you can use.

We know you’ve been calling for this change for a while. We know that our names policy has been unclear, and this has led to some unnecessarily difficult experiences for some of our users. For this we apologize, and we hope that today’s change is a step toward making Google+ the welcoming and inclusive place that we want it to be. Thank you for expressing your opinions so passionately, and thanks for continuing to make Google+ the thoughtful community that it is.

Finally Broke Down and Bought a New Printer

Finally Broke Down and Bought a New Printer

If Shaunda Brown doesn’t want that old ink sucking, paper jamming HP you may want to keep an eye out for a You Tube Clearing a paper jam from a HP C6280 or possibly Hewlett Packard wheel chock fail.

I hope she don’t want it. I can have so much fun saying good riddance to the last POS HP printer I’ll own.

As far as the new one, so far so good.  However, it does cause a brownout in the room when it prints, I didn’t realize how much juice laser printers draw!  So far though it hasn’t popped a breaker.   If you would happen to get a Brother printer, don’t use the CD for full driver and apps installation.  The CD uses a Flash front-end and is buggy as could be.  Come on Brother you should know better…  You’ll instead want to either install through the add printer utility from within Windows and let it find the driver on the CD or download the full driver package from the Brother website and run it (no Flash there).  On a more positive note, installing the Linux drivers was much less hassle, run a bash script and drink coffee until it’s done.

Audrey Hepburn Portrayed Smoking

Audrey Hepburn Portrayed Smoking

I’ve seen many posts today celebrating the birthday of Audrey Hepburn. Many of these posts picture Audrey enjoying a cigarette.

The stench of the burning tobacco permeating through my computer monitor deeply offends me.  These posts should only be viewable in an outside private arena not less than 20 feet from any entrance or window to any building or structure, without protection from the elements.  The area must be clearly marked as a designated smoking area,  visible to the general public for the sole purpose of mocking those within it’s confines.

Hey Harry, ObamaCare is supposed to be about health care not insurance coverage

Hey Harry, ObamaCare is supposed to be about health care not insurance coverage

It’s even part of the name.
You say, “It really brings a lot of people in from the cold so that they have the ability to get health insurance, which they’ve never had the opportunity [to do] before.”

I would like you to answer this, if someone is covered but cannot be treated, what is the point of the coverage?
